City Gate Station (CGS)

With the aim of feeding consumers namely industrial and residential users, high pressure natural gas after processing, is transported through transmission pipelines. Prior to distribution, it is essential to decrease pressure of the gas into permissible limit range.
City gate stations, accordingly, are located at the transfer route outside the predetermined city limit to supply the required pressure as it leads to urban areas. The pressure reduction in CGS can commonly be from 400-1400 psig in upstream to about 250 psig in downstream.
This station typically includes such equipment and industrial units for pressure regulating, metering, filtering, heating and odorizing natural gas. The whole process manufactures in various capacities and may run in multiple streams depending on local standards and client’s order.
